Butter beans are rich in blood building iron, the mineral responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood. After the age of 6 months, the iron in mother’s milk is not enough to meet baby’s needs. Therefore it is important to focus on iron rich foods to prevent deficiencies and future complications. Butter beans are also a source of vitamin K which protects bone strength and integrity. Another important mineral found in Butter beans is zinc, which is a multitasker involved in the activity of almost every cell in the body. And since a baby’s body is growing at a rapid rate, they have a higher demand for this nutrient.
