Brown Rice

Unlike white rice which is stripped off its fiber, proteins, vitamins and minerals during processing, brown rice maintains all its valuable nutrients. Rich in many B vitamins that play a vital role in metabolism, healthy brain development and nervous system functioning.
Brown Rice also contains a generous amount of zinc, a critical nutrient needed for all body cell processes. At this age your baby’s body is working so hard to grow, using up zinc at a rapid rate. that’s why it is critical to look out for adequate zinc intake to avoid deficiencies that could lead to growth delays.

Green Leafy Vegetables (spinach, leeks, coriander, parsley)

Green indicates folate, a powerful B vitamin that is essential for red blood cell production and healthy brain development. The spinach particularly in this dish provides your loved ones with a boost of calcium to strengthen their growing bones.

Lamb

The reason why animal protein is recommended for babies is because it contains vitamin B12, a very important vitamin that is extremely difficult to obtain from plant foods. Vitamin B12 is essential for blood production. During periods of rapid growth, a baby’s body is working on increasing blood volume, simultaneously increasing the demand for this unique vitamin to get its job done.

Carrots (2.7% or recipe) + Sweet Potato (4.1% of recipe)

The carrots and sweet potatoes in this dish provide an antioxidant boost due to their high levels of vitamin A which helps the body’s defense system against pathogens as well as protection of the skin and eyes.

Kidney Beans:

Legumes are rock stars with their outstanding nutritional profile. They support your little one’s growth and development due to their high content of protein and zinc. Kidney Beans also contain an abundance of B vitamins and are an excellent source of iron, both of which support healthy blood generation.
