General Questions

Does Sprouting Journey work for picky eaters?

Many of our customers have children who they consider picky eaters. Sprouting Journey is a great way to expose picky eaters to new tastes to help expand their palates. If your child is a picky eater, we suggest starting with selections from our Menu, which are our healthier versions of classic kids favorites. Then, we suggest gradually incorporating our other products to expose your child to a wider variety of flavors.

What meal plans do you offer?

For Babies Stage 1, 2, and 3, we offer plans with 12, 20, 28, or 40 meals delivered every 2 weeks. Meals can be used interchangeably for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
Sprouting Journey meals are priced by number of meals delivered every 2 weeks.
Delivery is BD2.000 per plan.

How do I sign up?

Start by telling us about your babies’ ages and dietary preferences and proceed through the sign up process. If we are fully booked for those 2 weeks, please enter your email address and we’ll let you know as soon as a slot has freed up.

How does Sprouting Journey work?

‘Babies’ and ‘Toddlers & Kids’ menu: Products are frozen and have next day delivery once an order is placed. 

 

‘Babies Subscription’ menu: Provide your baby’s age and preferences, select your meals from our menus and our culinary team will start cooking up your bi-weekly order. You can change your subscription meals, you can pause your account as long as it’s before the order cutoff date and time. 2 week’s worth of meals are delivered straight to your door in a temperature controlled truck. All subscription meals are made-to-order and arrive frozen. Meals are delivered frozen and ready-to-heat. When your babies are ready, just warm in your microwave or stove and serve. All meal labels include heating instructions, use by dates and full ingredient lists. Click here to get started.

What is Sprouting Journey?

Sprouting Journey is a Fresh-Frozen food company that makes wholesome, nutritious, convenient meals for babies, toddlers and kids and delivers them straight to your door!

As parents we prefer feeding our children fresh homemade meals, but when there isn’t time for preparing and cooking we’ve got you covered. We understand how difficult it is to find convenient healthy choices for your children and we are here to level up the industry standards! 

At Sprouting Journey we thoughtfully craft nutritious foods using flavours from around the world for children aged 6 months and up. Immediately after cooking, we blast freeze our food, locking in important vitamins and minerals without the need for harmful additives and preservatives.

Meals and Meal Plans

Is your packaging microwave and/or oven safe?

Our packaging is not microwave nor oven safe.
For our baby meals, please transfer the purees or finger foods to a heat-safe container for warming. Always refer to the label on the packaging for specific safe handling instructions.
For our toddler and kids meals, always refer to the label on your meal for specific cooking and safe handling instructions.

How do I prepare Sprouting Journey meals once they arrive?

Sprouting Journey meals are delivered frozen. Most meals are best served heated while others can be served cold. All meals include full heating/cooking instructions on the packaging and on the product website page.

Are your ingredients organic?

All of our ingredients are organic whenever possible. We take great effort to partner with farmers and purveyors who provide the best ingredients. All of our meats are all-natural, antibiotic-free, and vegetable-fed, we use fresh caught and sustainably farmed seafood. Our produce is local, fresh and in-season whenever possible and our ancient and heirloom whole grains and legumes are sourced from trusted purveyors to use in our globally-inspired meals.

Who creates Sprouting Journey meals?

All Sprouting Journey meals are created by our culinary team in collaboration with our nutritionist to ensure meals meet the changing nutritional needs of growing kids while introducing them to new flavors and textures. We create all of our meals based on the USDA and FDA guidelines, consistently offering a wide variety produce, protein and starches. All ingredients are sourced from the best farmers and purveyors, and meals are prepared, cooked and packaged in our commercial facility in the heart of Bahrain. Meals are delivered frozen, straight to your door, or picked up from our store location.

Managing My Subscription

What are your food safety practices?

Food safety is our number one priority, and our production facility is designed to ensure that we meet the highest food safety and quality standards. Our facility is Government inspected and meets FDA standards. In addition, we adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)-compliant culinary processes, which are the most stringent food safety and preparation processes. To keep our team up-to-date on the latest in food safety, they receive monthly food safety and quality training.

What if my child has a food allergy?

We recommend that you closely review product descriptions and ingredients if your child has a food allergy. All our labels include full ingredient lists.

Please note that all of our products are made in a facility free of nuts (except coconut). The facility does contain coconut, dairy, eggs, fish, soy and wheat. If your child has a severe gluten allergy, Sprouting Journey might not be the right option for you. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Do you offer gluten-free options?

We do offer gluten-free options. All gluten-free products are tagged with a GF on our site. Please note that our gluten-free products are processed in the same facility as our non gluten-free options. If your child has a severe gluten allergy, Sprouting Journey may not be the right option for you. What ingredients do you use in your vegan meals?

Similar to our vegetarian meals, our vegan meals include a diverse variety of whole grains and plant proteins. However, these meals do not include any animal derived ingredients.

Do you offer vegan meals and meal plans?

We do offer vegan options, but do not offer vegan meal plans at this time. Our vegan meals are designed for children who do not eat any animal proteins or products that come from animals such as milk, eggs, honey and gelatin. While we do offer vegan meals, they are limited, but we hope to expand these offerings in the future. All of our vegan meals are indicated with a VN.

What ingredients do you use in your vegetarian meals?

We highlight a variety of protein-packed ingredients including eggs, tofu, legumes (beans, peas and lentils) and other vegetable derived proteins such as seitan. Additionally, we include protein-dense whole grains such as farro, quinoa, millet and whole wheat pasta.

Do you offer vegetarian meals and meal plans?

Yes! Our vegetarian meals are designed for lacto-ovo vegetarians or those who include egg, milk, cheese, yogurt and other milk and egg containing products in their diets. Our vegetarian meals do not contain any meat, poultry, seafood or fish. All of our vegetarian meals are indicated with a V.
If you are already a customer and would like to change your child’s dietary preference to vegetarian, you can do so by doing the following:
• Sign in to your account
• Click Subscription Settings on the gray bar across the top of the screen
• Click the dropdown menu under Dietary Preference
• Select Veggie to set your child’s preference to vegetarian

Are Sprouting Journey meals safe to consume past their use by date?

All our meals are perishable and must be refrigerated immediately. Meals should not be consumed past their use by date, which is stated on the meal label.

Can your meals be frozen?

Our meals can be frozen for up to 90 days as long as it’s before the use by date, which is stated on the meal label. To defrost, simply place in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. This may take anywhere from 18-24 hours for our toddler and kids meals and 12-18 hours for our baby meals. How long can I keep a Nurture Life meal in the refrigerator?

Our meals stay fresh for 5-7 days depending on your delivery day. All our meals include use by dates on the meal labels.

Can I rate my meals, mark them as favorites or add comments?

If you’d like to remember which meals are your child’s favorites, you can rate your meals, mark a certain meal as a favorite or add comments by following these steps:
• Sign in to your account
• Click My Meals
• Scroll down to Your Past Orders
• Click View Order next to a delivery date that contains a meal that you want to comment on
• You will see the meals you ordered that week, and will have the option to rate the meal, mark it as a favorite using the heart sign and write a comment

Can I add meals for any age?

Yes! You can add meals from any age to your week’s order. Here’s how:
• Go to My Meals and click on the week’s meals you’d like to add to your current order.
• Click the Change/Add button under Meals for Any Age.
• Click on the + under the category of meals you’d like to select from. Click on the + again to add it to your week’s meals.
• After you’ve finished adding meals, click Confirm Add Ons to complete your order. You should see a Success pop-up after confirming. Click OK to return to your week’s order page.

How do I view my current and past orders?

Sign into your account and go to Order History. From there you can view Upcoming Orders and Your Past Orders. Click on “View / Edit” to review Upcoming Orders. Click on “View Order” to view Past Orders.

How can I change or add meals on a mobile device?

Sign in to your account and follow the steps below.
• From the My Meals tab across the bottom, select the order you’d like to make changes to.
• Click View / Edit.
• Select the plan you want to make changes to.
• Click + or – to add or remove meals.
• Click the red CONFIRM button.
• Review your order and click the green CONFIRM button.
• You will then see a pop-up confirming your changes.

How can I change or add meals on your website?

Sign in to your account and follow the steps below.
• Click View / Edit next to the week you want to change.
• Click Change / Add for the child you want to change.
• Click – or x to remove meals. Click + to add meals. •
• Confirm your changes by clicking the Confirm Changes button at the bottom of the screen.

What is the weekly cutoff date and time to change my meals or skip a week?

The deadline to change your meals or skip a week is dependent on your delivery day. In your account, from the My Meals page, when you click on a week you will see the order cutoff date and time in the upper right hand side of your screen. You will also receive a reminder email three days prior to the order cutoff date and time each week reminding you to make changes or skip a week.

How do I change my child’s meal plan?

To change your child’s meal plan:
• Sign in to your account
• Go to Subscription Settings
• Click on the drop down for Subscription Type and choose the new meal plan
• Click Save Plan Changes
Please note that if you change a meal plan after you’ve made specific changes to your upcoming meals, all of your meal choices will reset to the Chef’s Choice menu for your newly selected plan.

Managing My Account

Do you have a referral program?

Yes! All Sprouting Journey customers have access to our Refer A Friend program. You can invite new families via email, Facebook and Instagram. To invite a new family to try Sprouting Journey, sign in to your account and click on Refer A Friend on the bar across the top of the screen. Then follow the steps to refer a friend. Your friends will receive BD5 off their first order. For every new friend you invite who subscribes for 2 weeks or more, you will receive a BD5 credit towards your next order. You can earn an unlimited amount of credits.

From the Refer A Friend section in your account, you will also be able to track your invites to see if your friends have claimed their Sprouting Journey subscription. If they haven’t, you can resend the invite to remind them to try us out.

What kinds of payment does Sprouting Journey accept online?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit Cards. We do not accept personal cheques or money orders.

How do I update my payment information?

Sign in to your account, then go to Account Settings and click on “Edit Info” under Payment. Then update your payment information and select “Save Changes.”

How do I change my password?

Sign in to your account, then go to Account Settings and click on “Edit Info” under Email + Password. Enter a new password and select “Save Changes.”

When will my card be charged?

We process the charge immediately following the cutoff for your order which falls anywhere from 4-8 days prior to your delivery. The cutoff is specific to your delivery day and time. When logged in on a desktop the cutoff can be found at the top of your order summary.

Delivery

What is the cost of delivery?

Our delivery charge is BD2.000 per delivery. If you miss your scheduled delivery you will be charged for rescheduling.

Can I change my delivery day?

We do offer multiple delivery day options depending on your area. To find out which delivery days are available for your area and to change your delivery day please contact us at support@sprouting.com or 17217079.

Are your meals delivered frozen?

All of our products are delivered frozen.

Will my food stay fresh in transit?

To ensure the safety of our products throughout their journey to your door, your orders are delivered in a temperature controlled truck. As our meals are perishable, please place them in the freezer as soon as you receive them to ensure maximum freshness.

What if I’m not home to receive my delivery?

To ensure your child’s safety our products cannot be left by your door. If you aren’t home to receive your delivery, our delivery driver will generally call you and wait 10 minutes. If the delivery driver does not hear back from you after 10 minutes, he will move on to the next delivery. You may contact Sprouting Journey to reschedule missed delivery timings with an additional delivery charge.

If you have special delivery instructions, such as “leave our order with the doorman,” please let us know by updating your delivery instructions. Sign in to your account, click on the Account Settings tab, scroll down to the Delivery Info section, click on the “Edit Info” button then enter in your Delivery Instructions.

When will my order arrive?

Your order should arrive by 6pm on the specified delivery day of your order. You will also receive an email notification informing you once your order is en route.

Can I have more than one delivery address on file?

Yes, you can! To set up more than one delivery address:
• Sign in to your account
• Click Account Settings
• Under Delivery Info, click Edit Info
• At the bottom of the page, click Add a New Address
• After entering your new address, you have the option of setting the new address as your default

How do I update my Delivery address?

You can update your default address or add a new address by going to your Account Settings and selecting “Edit Info” under Delivery Info. If you have special delivery instructions, such as “leave our order with the doorman,” please let us know in the Delivery Instructions field.

Is your packaging recyclable?

All of our packaging is recyclable.
